Every morning, between 8:30 and 9:00, I receive a call with no information showing on my phones' displays. I have Call Intercept on my phone line which is supposed to send such calls to queue for caller identification.
After opening a trouble report with my provider, it was determined that calls were originating internationally and "17183183374" was being sent as the originating number.
Call Intercept cannot process originating numbers with more than 10 digits. The system passes the call along minus and name and number.
Either way, I called the number back, adding the *67 prefix. I reached a recording whose wording was a cross between an telemarketer and a service provider. The recording said in essence that the number was no active and that they would find another company.
