Auto dialer and recorded message: Just kept repeating "Call the job line at 976 4477, City and State job information, The Post office is always hiring Call the Job line at 976 4477" over and over...
It's a scam because 976 numbers are always a toll call, the City and State DO not make Cold calls" to recruit applicants, nor would they force people to pay a toll to call and find out about potential jobs.
The New York number is a false number...coming from a cloner, and when you call it back it gives a busy tone.
Got the same Auto dial message today (Jan 15,2009). I realized it was a scam and won't call it. Am curious though how much you would get hit for if you do call it.
The past few weeks I have gotten a LOT of new scam & junk calls. I thought the "Do Not Call List" was supposed to stop this crap. Seemed like it did for a while.
