Received a call from them as well. Claiming they were with the IRS internal tax crime department. Gave me a badge number that was about 20 numbers long before I hung up on him. Scam for sure.
just got the same call. I said hello and he continued to talk like he was leaving a message, said this message was for "you". I then asked him who "you" was he could not give me my name, just kept saying "you"
How do these people get our cell phone #s. I never give mine out???
received call from my employer asking for help to wire money for IRS debt- said someone would be calling me.. sounded fishy. the indian guy called "jimmy walker" and said he needed money for medical expenses. My first clue it was a scam is he pronounced my bosses name incorrect (was supposedly a friend) , his story didn't match up and wanted me to go right away to bank, leaving him on phone while I went in and got the cash to put it on a prepaid card. Luckily, I was smarter that he and didn't listen. Called my employer to say it was a scam. when he called back, I told him I didn't go to the bank, I went to the police. He hung up!
got a phone call said his name was Jason Clark badge #16108 and he was from tax crime unit IRS. Said if i didn't call him back immediately good luck. Def a scam!
Received call today 3/19/2015 Jason Clark with the Tax Crime Investigation Unit, with the IRS. stated that this was serious and concerned "you" I tried to interrupt him but kept talking like it was a recording. Told me I needed to call him back ASAAP at 718-337-8776. I am not calling him back, I think I saw something on the news about these callers. Once you call back they can tap into all your data.
