Selling emergency monitors. Caller was a foreigner maybe from Pakistan, India, or Malaysia. He was calling from an Asian call center. when I asked him what country he was from, he said "I'm not allowed to say." The phone call shows from NY, but it wasn't. Timeshare sales and senior medical alert monitor companies in the USA pay for those foreign call centers so they can bypass the US Do Not Call List.
Block the call and get over it. If you have caller id and see a name you do not know block the damn call. A legit business would send you written material if they could not get through to you via telephone. This goes on daily so get used to it. Block the calls.
Just got a call from this number....caller ID shows "Backbone Community." Female with a very heavy "sing-songy" type accent never identified herself or who she represented but starts the conversation with "How are you today? I'm calling to help you with your medical bills. Have you had any surgery within the last 10-15 years (and give some examples)?" I respond with, "No. Please remove my name and number from your list." She starts to say more and I just disconnected the line. Even if I had had any type of surgery I certain wouldn't divulge it over the phone except to my insurance company and I would have initiated the call to them and if they had to call me back then there would be security questions in place so they know they're speaking with the correct person.
