I answer the phone....silence, caller connects with lots of static and background noise, thick accent "Steve" says he's with "a telephone company" offering 30% discount on my LD.
Sure buddy, can ya sell me a bridge too? I'd like to buy a bridge somewhere, anywhere. No I don't need to see it. I'll take your word for it "Steve".
Do yourself and all of us a favor, "Steve", and go get a real job where you provide a service or produce something useful and wanted. Calling random numbers, trying to scam hard WORKing people out of their hard-EARNED money is dirty and shameful.
This man that calls claims to be "Steven Richards". BS! He has the thickest middle-eastern accent, it's near impossible to understand what he is saying. He has called my office over 6 times now within the month harrassing other employees in the building calling their lines as well! Each time, I sternly/angrily ask him to stop calling, take our name off his list, etc. He WILL NOT quit! He claims to be with AT&T offering a discount on long-distance calling (just as "Speak English!" wrote). I confirmed with my AT&T Business account that no one by the name, Steven Richards, works for them nor would AT&T promote such offers over the phone and try to verify every number in the building. These calls are ridiculous and a waste of everyone's time. He is working for a fraudulent company and will not give you any information when asked. However, just this afternoon, he must have forgotten to block the call because it came through as "1st Ave Machine". When the number was called back, only a busy signal. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!
This caller has called twice and I didn't answer, as I don't for numbers I don't recognize. I am grateful for the prior posts. It saves me time and frustration.
