Caller ID just said NEW YORK, but I stupidly picked up because I have elderly relatives in the (in retrospect, obviously spoofed) area code. After a brief delay (another red flag), spoke briefly with Alan from "United Services," who had a very heavy accent and mispronounced my name. Thank heaven for 800notes.
Just got a call told the guy Andy (Filipino accent I think). Told him I am on the do not call list he tried to talk over me so I told him to shut up and take my number off of his list. He then told me to f--- off. Real nice!!
Said he was with Debt Consumer Services. Beyond annoyed!!!
Received a call twice... ID saying it was New York..A male in pm and a female in the am both with New York on ID
They want to take over your credit cards and reduce your payments..Told them to get lost I had already told the women that morning I was not interested ...the man got angry denied that another caller had called me and hung up...Accent heavy on both callers
Caller said he was with American Service (spoofing American Express?) started asking me "You pay all of your credit card bills on time, right?" etc etc.. I said "I am on the DO NOT CALL Registry" and he said "OH GOD" and hung up on me. It's a scam. Guy had an Indian kind of accent, not that it means anything. Caller ID said New York, no company name, etc. I put a complaint in on the government do not call registry. Suggest you all do the same, register your phone numbers there and if the calls keep coming, complain.
