I got a call at 11:19AM today 4/25/2016 from a male stating his name was Conrad Smith , And that legal action was being taken against me in regards to Federal Taxes. The individual stated Dept of Treasury had sent 3 letters in the mail and now where starting legal action. I asked where they sent the letters and He gave my home address. Needless so say this is very concerning to me. I asked for a supervisor name and he gave me the name Jack McDonald phone number 718-551-0453. I called back and asked for Mr. Jack McDonald and it was Conrad Smith or the same individual who claimed to be Conrad smith. What can I do about this?? Who does one call to report incidents like this???

Several months ago these people tried to scam my kids grandma. It kinda worked cause her phone died before she figured out what they wanted her to do and she really thought there was a warrant for her arrest....She's pushing 70 and has never been to jail. I had the pleasure of talking to them today. Long story short I owe the IRS $4,566 and missed the warning letters so there is a warrant for my arrest. She tells me I can't disconnect the call or else she can't stop the warrant and I'll be arrested today. During that call I got 3 call waiting calls - caller ID said 911, she said it was the police tracing my location. I was instructed to stay on the phone, take my car charger and my debit card go to the bank, get min $2200(half) and I could pay $50 monthly payments for the balance. She looked up a zip code I gave her as mine and gave me the address to Kroger on Stage Rd and said go there to buy i tunes gift cards for $500 ea. 3 of them cause I told her I only had $1500 and she said that would be fine. She said after I have the cards an Inspector from the IRS was gonna come to my house to pick up the cards and then I wouldn't go to jail. If I disclosed any information from this conversation to anyone I would be violating article bla bla law and if at any time the call disconnected I would be out of time and the police would come. So I played along. I put her on hold (mute) while I was "driving" working... taking care of a sick kid and would pop back on here and there. At one point she told me not to mute my phone, told her my phone is dying and when it's on the charger it doesn't work. She said ok tell me when you get to the Kroger parking lot. I screwed with this woman for 2 hrs and I recorded the last few minutes of the conversation. WARNING : this is funny as hell.. but it's got a lot of cursing.. so if you are offended by that don't listen. We can't catch these folks but we can spread the word and laugh a little along the way. i just got a call from this number but the name wasn't the same as some of you got,, last name twit and accent was indian.. but best part, it was a wrong number they called asking for a Robbie something,, we do not answer calls we do not know the number so this person(idiot) didn't even listen to our message because there is no one here by name of Robbie,, I knew it was scam but good grief if you want to scam someone get your name and number right,, dummy
Betsy Claus of Dept of Legal Affairs with a foreign accent. Had my name wrong so they are buying a list from e-mail advertisers to get our information. When I must put my info out for a company I just use a different first name. Knew this was spam but hoped to help others.
