Called saying that the could help with my irs tax debt at my business number. As we don't have one, I called the number back to be removed from the list and got a "your call cannot be completed as dialed" message.
"This is a public service announcement .... that will make you completely debt free ..." I pressed "1" to speak to an operator. When he answered, I shouted at the top of my voice "Don't call this number again" - Must have given him an earful. The Canadian Do Not Call Registry is a complete FAILURE.
I received a couple of calls with no mesages left, so today I had some spare time and answered it. A recording promised that he could magically remove all my credit card debt and, of course, promised that pressing 2 would also magically remove me from their calling list. So, I pressed 1 and told the woman who asked me what kind of a day I was having that I was impressed that she could sleep doing the kind of job she does and that I really did wish that she and her company would drop off the edge of the world.
I know it is a wee bit petty, but it did feel kinda good ....
