these people called saying they were from morgan and associates, they told my fiance that he need to wire money to florida for a online payday loan, by a certain time or else they would send cops to his job and arrest him, said that there was a lawsuit against my fiance and that there was a warrant out for his arrest. i contacted my lawyer and they told us straight up that it was a scam, that they threatin people with the cops in order to get the money, the were very harsh.
They keep calling me as well, non-stop! Have asked them to STOP! Reporting them to the police, today. They call from other numbers as well. I could block this number and the other ones, but why should we have to pay for Scammers? How did you get this to stop?
718-713-4439 and 358-965-4259 are the same people calling me non-stop everyday. They know my personal information such as SS#, but they have used Morgan and [***]. as a title or investigative office. They say they will come to my work, I have told them to mail a certified letter if I owe money, but never gave my info to these foreigners< that is what they are. Not American and they have even gave a Eric Mathews<I ahve asked them wy they are calling and what do they want, they use profanity at me, and not very tasteful at all. They use a MAGIC JACK!!!
I was called by the 7187134439 number all day today. My voicemail featured a male with a middle eastern accent who warned me I must respond immediately. Otherwise "good luck as the situation unfolds around you. Have a blessed day." He said he was something to do with criminal law by the name of Daniel Scott. That bland all American name should have tipped me off immediately. This same number then called my husband's place of business repeatedly. They were very rude and inappropriate with anyone who answered demanding to speak to my spouse. I made the mistake of finally calling them back this evening. Mr. "Scott" was very brusque with me. He informed me I was being prosecuted and listed 3 felony charges; violation of some federal banking law, collateral check fraud, and theft by deception. There was much I could not understand due to his accent. When I asked for clarification, he would repeat the same thing faster. I believe he became personally offended when I attempted to explain our communication difficulties were due to his use of legal jargon and his accent. I believe he was saying my crime related to a recent online loan and was offering me a deal to settle out of court. If I faxed some kind of letter, a copy of my license and sent $1257 tonight, I would not be prosecuted. I said I needed to talk to my husband. He called 3 more times then left a very threatening voicemail. I was being prosecuted as a result of my failure to comply. Letters would be sent to my employer and the police would arrest me in the morning. I better make sure I had someone to "bail me out" and "may god bless me and save me."
The insertion of numerous Christian religious phrases is apparently a popular thing among these people. I think they believe it makes their message more foreboding but it just sounds hilarious combined with the middle Eastern accent. I've read a lot of similar scenarios associated with other numbers where the perpetrators had the aforementioned accent and, clearly, do not realize that many Americans are not especially god fearing. Also, it seems those particular 3 felony charges are often used. I believe I opened myself up to this by filling out numerous loan applications a few weeks ago until I found one that gave me the right amount. I was able to pay it back 2 days later well before its due date which has not yet passed. I had to give a lot of personal information on those applications which is how I assume they got ahold of it. Of course, I'm not sure how they missed that we are both physicians and, therefore, partially our own bosses, because they repeatedly threatened to contact our employers as though this would strike an intimidating blow. Both of us have been openly conferring and joking about this today at our workplaces. Well, no more online loans for me. If I am incarcerated tomorrow, I will be sure to write an addendum to this when and if I am released.
I received a call saying they were calling for United Cerebral Palsy and I had a debt with them. I am on the Board of Directors for UCP and I let them know as well as the police that I received this call.
