A woman calling herself Suzanne states she is from a technical support company that windows has hired to help me fix my computer that has been infected with a virus. She states Windows has informed her by means of a report that my computer has been infected. I demanded she give me some form of verification and all she could do was give me this phone #. She said it was the phone number of her company which she pronounced something like " Zixtech". when I called the number back I got a voice stating the person I am calling is not available. Obviously not a business number.
Total scam trying to get you to open your computer and give them your information so they can hack you. In case you are reading Suzanne, the next time you call me I am going to blow my whistle in your ear really, really loud.
I just got a call from this guy who sounds like he is from India. the call appears as private name and private number. he then proceeds to tell me that he is calling all the registered users of Microsoft and says all the computers in my area are infected with a virus. he then asks me if i'm in front of my pc and has the nerve to start directing me on what to do on my pc. I stopped him dead in his tracks, told him he is calling from a private name and number and has the nerve to start directing me on what to do when I have no way of verifying who he is or where he is calling from. he then gives me this phone number 7187154164 and feeds me some b.s line about how its a toll free number and only legitimate companies can have a toll free number. beware people!!! never ever do anything or give out any info from anyone on the phone! nothing good can come out of it!
