Microsoft Office called saying there was a security issue with my computer requesting me to go into my Run command and type something in.
They've called over 6 times today, and kept insisting that if I don't do it, they will lock my computer. I told "Fred" I would call him back to make sure my security was protected. Called Microsoft directly and advised of the situation, and they confirmed that it was not them contacting me.
Received a phone call....Says on behalf of Microsoft...Said my computer had errors/infections....Tryied to make me download/install a software named Teamviewer wich would have given them full control of my machine...This is where I have started asking questions...The scammer gave me this phone number 718 717 2808 ext. 44....His phony name was David Smith....In NO WAY will I give full access to my computer to an unkown stranger....
Got a call from Peter Robinson who told me that he worked for microsoft and they received error messages from my computer and he needed to repair my computer at distance. I was not sure about that and asked him more information. He gave me this address: http://www.ammyy.com/en/ (he said that this company has a contract with microsoft). I stopped the discussion because seems very akward and took his phone number and this is how I found those previous message ...
received a call twice today-Person stating that is calilng from Microsoft wanting me to type in some kind of message because there were errors in my computer
when asked where are you calling from and person responded BC-- I asked what city /region he stated London
I asked to speak to his supervisor and hung up
