This was a number I was to call back. A voice mail was left for me today. Caller ID said caller UNKNOWN. The man's voice was either from India or somewhere, not in America. He told me to return the phone call or the case will unfold against me and only god could save me. This is obviously a scam. I am related to someone who actually works in a real debt collection agency and this is not how legal agencies work. Report this phone call immediately to the FCC. If you do actually speak to someone, ask them for their actual mailing address and their licence number. Do not verify any personal information over the phone. If you actually have a debt, they have to send you something in the mail. Tell them to send it in the mail, then they will ask for your address....you tell them, you should have that information in front of you if you are a legal law abiding debt collection. These people are scammers!
Same situation. Calling me over the past few years from different numbers, but same script every time.
I made the mistake of calling them back the first time they called me and they told me I had a payday loan turned over to them. I've never had a payday loan and asked for the name of the company I allegedly owed money to. Called them and they said they do not issue loans in my state, and this is a scam.
They called me at home, and I made the mistake of calling back on my cell phone, and then they had that number and called HUNDREDS of times a day. Changed my home and cell phone.
Google "India payday loan scams" to learn more about these scum. Whatever you do, don't call them back or pay them any money. You owe nothing and can't be arrested for debt. It's a civil matter they have to take you to court, and proove the money you owe. These scum are not willing to provide anything in writing. That's first clue this is a scam. Legitimate debt companies will provide written proof of debt.
Monitor your back account so no money is deducted against your will. Change phone numbers and bank accounts.
