An Indian with a very heavy accent supposedly named James Jackson just called my employer asking for me.  I had my receptionist put the call into voicemail.  I could barely understand this guy.  What I did make out was that he's supposedly from some litigation department and that I was not to disregard this call.  He ended by wishing me luck.  This is an obvious scam and I am in no way worried. However, I am furious that these people call my work!  This is so illegal and it needs to stop!!!

This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

My manager received the same threatening call at work from this number (name was James Henry on the voice mail).  Nothing on the message of what the call is about other than "do not disregard....call back NOW.....you will be sorry if you don't call back".  We've referred the call to our Global Security Office for handling.

I have received three, yes three back-to-back-to-back calls from 714-841-6447 from a Mr Eric Joesph who had a very, very thick Indian accent.  I told Mr. Joseph from the outset that the phone call was being recorded for both my protection and his.  He then goes on to tell me that my husband is the one who they are processing the complaint against.  First off my husband never, ever has applied for or even looked into a pay day loan.  He has a line of credit from his bank so that would not be something he would be in need of had he needed extra cash.  Secondly I told this person that they were running an "organized crime scheme" emanating from India and this recording was going to be turned over to the local law enforcement and also to the FTC & FCC because they are in direct violation of the laws governing these types of phone  calls. At this point Mr. Joseph got defensive and started to yell and I just let him start but then cut him off by saying that wished "good luck and God bless you" and hung up!!!  I know that had to just grind him right in his stomach as this is what they tell everyone before trying to scare the living daylights out of them.
