Yadi - this is a scam - do not listen to them! Your friend may have used you as a reference when applying for a loan and her info was stolen along with your names and number. These people are thieves and extortionists. They will tell you that you are about to be arrested and chrarged as an accomplice to fraud and decpetion and a bunch of other crap. Even if this was a valid debt - you would not be repsonsible in any way becuase you were only a reference - not a co-signer. I am willing to bet they are calling you to put pressure on your friend to pay for a loan they say she took out. I will also bet that she never took any such loan. These people mainly target former payday loan applicants, even people who juts inquired about a loan - but never took it out are getting calls. Let your friend know they called - and if I were you I would report the call to your state attorney general and www.ic3.gov.
