I got a call from this people stating I won a 2.000 usd, and they asked me to contact David Washington at his phone number 18764488434 and have 412 usd in cash to give to the guys who were on their way to my home to deliver the check. Same [***]!!! I just hang up the phone.
This scam is still running. I appreciate everyone's comments but I wonder if there has been any legal action taken by anyone who has been scammed or almost been scammed. I received a call from a "Mike Norris" yesterday afternoon--heavy indian accent-- with the same line about $2.5mi and a new Mercedes-Benz. I didn't give him any information but I had time to google him and find this page. His number is 876-837-8870. Do NOT give out your personal information unless someone is standing there with a check, people!!
Called my grandmother to say she had won 2.5 million dollars and a Mercedes i took the phone from her when she could not understand him because of his accent he stated he was with the mega million company and called us over and over for 2 or 3 days until we got our buddy the sheriff to pick up the next time as we invited him over for dinner after church. The calls stopped after that. I told them if they want to give me or my grandmother 2.5 million and a new car they can have the card when the keys and the money is in my hand.
Scam people if they ask for money before giving you the prize its a scam because if it was real they would want to surprise you make it public with a bunch of camera and good publicity for them before hitting you with the bills and taxes after.
I had the same thing literally just happen to me. Luckily I was messaging my mom about it in between the calls he gave me because we kept losing signal. His numberhe used to call me was 18765546815 and used the name "David Washington" if u don't putbur number into a drawing or u havnt entered into anything then you probably wouldn't be winning anything. Lol. He called me on my text free app for my smartphone. I never give the number out because i only use it to text my friends while I'm at work and/or around WiFi. Its really sad these people havnt been caught yet and will continue to scam people. And unfortunately some people fall for it. EVEN IF IT SOUNDS GOOD, NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO STRANGERS!!!!! Everyone should already know not to do that. Its very dangerous. He even resorted to telling me the guy would come with my winnings before I'd have to pay any money but to have the card ready. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy showed up with a stolen car!!!! People these days. I hope he gets caught!
I work at a deaf and hard of hearing company and this "David Washington" called and scammed this lady big time! He had her write out a $6000 check! There was nothing I could do about it, and I couldn't tell her that it was a scam or else I could lose my job. I felt so bad and I couldn't take it knowing this lady was going to lose $6000. She was 90 years old and he was taking advantage of her! I hope he gets caught somehow and doesn't do this to anyone else.
