This man represented his self as an attorney for a law firm that received the information from actual IRS tax Lien Filings and I told him I never receive any mailing from the IRS and how did he get the info before the Tax payer.... I googled his number and there is no firm attached to this number only scam information, to which I am adding to this post...I do have audit being conducted but I called accountant and we are still waiting for the conclusion since we have provided all of the information they need and no taxes owed
They called me, a man, stated he was from an attys office in co. They were calling to help me he said because the irs had filed a lien on me last week???? He wanted to know if i was aware of it. I told him there was no way! He stated it was from 2001,2002,2003 for not filing or paying? I told him he was lying and i hung up on him,,,,he called me back again and asked for my middle name, i hung up on him again...I am reporting this!! It is a scam for sure!
The IRS sends letters, first class mail. Ignore those, they send certified letters that you need to sign for. Ignore those and they freeze your bank accounts to get your attention. They don't file liens, they just seize them and freeze them right where they are at.

That number called me all day and I finally answered it and they said same thing, I said wrong number and hung up, they had my whole name and called my cell phone..
Same as Tami and Sherry. However, this time the caller gave his name as Mike McNally and, upon googling, I learned that there is an attorney by that name in Colorado. Assuming that attorney is not part of this intended scam, it would appear that the scammer is "borrowing" his identity.
