My call came in on my cell phone and also had something to do with breast cancer. When I advised her this was a private cell phone number she just kept right on trying to talk over me so I ended up yelling "PUT ME ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST!" and hung up. Now I've added to contacts so won't answer again unless I feel like yelling at someone again.
This call requesting a donation to fight breast cancer came in on a cell # given only to my friends and family for emergency use--although I realize that all #s are, for some reason, a matter of public record (or so I've been told previously by a pollster). When I explained that I resented the intrusion and do not ever respond to phone solicitations from strangers, I got the "We're allowed to call you b/c we're a charity" excuse. Yes, and I'm allowed to tell you politely that--charity or not--I will NEVER donate to your or any other non-profit organization that intrudes on my privacy via telephone. Use the USPS, people! Yet another # now blocked.
