This is a number that is calling indicating this is my last and final notice that the IRS is suing for taxes due. After receiving the third call in one day, I called this number. When the phone finally started to ring after sounds of clicks and rotary dial sounds, someone finally answered, it was obviously a call center with many, many chattering voices in the background.
I asked where the call center was located and after great hesitation, New York was the answer, but I would have to say that it was an overseas location. When she asked what number had called me and I told her the area code was in Colorado and gave her the number (720) 227-8193, she immediately hung up. I decided to call back but no one picked up after many rings.

Yeah. They kept calling today but when I answered it was an automatic voice. I called them back telling them to go [***] themselves and that the real IRS has been notified.
I too received several calls from these people claiming to be investigators for the "Internal Revenue Service". They went so far as to provide me with a fake badge number. I pressed them for more information until they finally hung up on me. I called back several times and spoke to 2 or 3 different people with thick Indian accents, each time getting hung up on. I would suggest that anyone receiving calls from these jokers should immediately call and report them to the secret service field office at (202) 406-5708.
