It's blocked now but I called this number back and a man with a heavy Indian accent answered by saying this is the US Treasury how may I help you, then he said this was the IRS department. I laughed out loud and hung up. What a moron scammer!
IRS scammers. This is there spiel:
“Have received legal notice concerning a tax fraud against you so before this matter goes to the Federal claims court house or before you get arrested please call immediately on our department number 720-262-4678 make sure you call us as soon as possible…”

I called this number back. It was a Colorado number and it was from a call room full of men voices . The guy I spoke to didnt identify himself by name and had a thick foreign/ Indian accent . Was very rude when I asked for a way to verify who his is and that he is a rep for IRS.
He said this is about an affidavit of tax fraud $2910.00 inc late fees
I said you are full of [***]-- no way I owe that!
He asked that is how you speak to a government rep I said I am a government employee and you are a fraud.
Sent out notices in aug /nov 2016, sent out correspondence
but wouldnt verify to what address and didnt know my name

i called this guy back, Indian gentlemen said he was an "officer with the IRS". I had him spell his name "Alex Matthew", and then he hung up on me. seems like a legit scam
Received a call from this number. Called the number back from another number and same thing occurred....man with heavy Indian accent answered the phone "Internal Revenue Service may I help you?" I was laughing as I hung up the phone. Unlike Microsoft and other large corporations I seriously doubt the US Government is farming out calls to a call center in Delhi.
