I have been receiving daily calls from this number since last week, and the caller always hangs up when I identify myself.  I called the number back on July 2nd of last week and spoke to a representative, who identified herself as working for CenturyLink's call center.  She said that the calls were to existing or former customers of CenturyLink to inform them about the new broadband connection now available .

I explained that the callers always hang up on me without saying anything, and she apologized for that, stating that they were training several new call reps.  I told her that doesn't explain why they would just hang up when I identify myself.  She agreed this was very rude of the reps to not identify themselves.  I told her to remove my name from the call list, and she said she would put in this request, but that it would take a few days to catch up in the system.  She also said there were multiple call centers like this across the US, and there's no telling which call center called us.  I told her that I immediately dialed this call center back from my caller ID, and that I wanted THIS center to remove my number, since this is the same center that keeps calling me and hanging up.  She said she would pass the complaint along to a supervisor.  I told her to also let the supervisor know that CenturyLink has lost any business they would have earned from me, since they're calling me unsolicited and then hanging up on me.  We have a very busy office, and I don't appreciate the rude interruption if their reps are not even going to tell me why they're calling me.

Today, July 6th, I received another call from this number.  I picked up the line, identified myself, and heard only silence.  I immediately told the person on the end of the line, "You'd better not hang up on me this time!"  The person hung up on me without saying anything.  I immediately called the number back, and this time, there was no ringing on the other end of the line.  No one answered, and the line went dead.  I tried several more times to call the number back, but I can't get through.  So they can call me and hang up, but I can't call them back.  CenturyLink has for sure lost my business now!!!!
