I received a robo call telling me to stop everything and listen to their very important message. Earlier I had received a hangup call from another unknown number. I believe they may have been testing to determine working numbers. Too bad the FCC does do its current job instead of taking on control of the Internet.
Hudson CO was on my caller I.D. Not recognizing that ID or phone number, did not answer. Wonder if these people are in cahoots with the Nigerian scammers. Thanks to those above that posted. I check here on all these calls.
This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, and then further violate the TCPA by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line. Since they do not allow victims to get to an operator, they also fail to provide a phone number and a physical address when asked, yet further violating the TCPA. Their recording states that they have a system that will have the victim making five-figure monthly income in a week with no up-front costs, and everything taken care of by the caller. This is clearly a scam, most likely some form of MLM or pyramid scheme. Do not provide this scammer with any financial or personal information.
