Just got a call on my home number from 720-398-9422 while I was at work. Left no name or return number, only stating he was call back. He had a rich, almost british colonial accent. Call display showed the number and the name Nationwide Periodical. I have no idea who they are as I have never done ANY business from a company or subsidiary in Colorado.
Thank you for the information----they said I owed $150.00 --I said I didn't own them a dime---they said they would turn me into the credit bureau---do I worry?
Did you receive anything IN WRITING that was MAILED (post office) to you?? That is the official way of notifying you of a debt. Was any proof given that you actually owed a debt? Was your name used? Was the name of the company given??? This is very probably a scam trying to extort money from you. Check your credit report to be sure.
My dad got a call from a person from this number. He made the mistake of giving his credit card number to the telemarketer. He supposedly was being charged for a magazine subscription to the tune of $159.00, which now is showing up on his bank of america card statement Do not give yourr credit card info to this company! The telemarketer said he would notify the credit bureaus if he does not pay.. This is a scam! I will dispute the credit card charges and do what I can to warn people about this company.
