I looked up this number and it is supposed to be associated with the American Veteran's Support Foundation. Charity calls have a quota to meet everyday and sometimes they just don't give time for you to reach the phone. They are also required to speak to a live person. As most of us are very cautious of identify theft and all the other scammers, of these dark days, I would simply go to the American Veteran's Support Foundation and click the DONATE TODAY tab to make a monetary donation, where Pay Pal is safe. There are other areas such as volunteering time, and other avenues of support that you can do. Even though I don't see a Prayer Tab think there should be. That one anyone can do!
Thank you and God Bless all Veteran's for standing up for our freedom, and honoring the covenant our fore fathers made for this country. It is more precious than ever.
They just called twice in a row. I don't like to answer for anyone I don't know because it'll just confirm to a computer that it's a live number. Twice in a row--nice trick. It could fool me into believing that someone is really trying to get into touch with me. The only problem is that I have that dreaded answering machine. If someone really did need to get in touch with me, don't you think they'd leave a message on the machine?
I'm also cynical about charities. One way to make 6 figures these days is to start a charity. Take-in 90% of the overhead costs and leave a grand total of 10% (if that) to the charity. These days charities are often about padding the executive's/board's and advertising agency's pockets first. Any charity that does this is just a legal con and takes money out of the pockets of real charities. DO RESEARCH ON ANY CHARITY YOU DONATE TO 1ST. MAKE SURE THEY HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS, GET MOST OF THE FUNDS TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM AND HAVE A LONG TRACK RECORD OF FINANCIAL REPORTING. AND DON'T TAKE ANY CELEBRITY'S WORD--CELEBS HAVE ENDORSED SOME REALLY BAD CHARITIES.
