I talked to him on a Tuesday and told me he was an intern and that he had just started working there the day before. Later that day, I called back asking who my attorney should talk to. The guy on the phone couldn't have been slower on his feet. I recorded the phone call and told him I was doing so. He told he would get the "Director" and when I asked what the person's name was he said Tom Reynolds. I said "How interesting...the same Tom Reynolds that was an Intern who had only been there one day was now the Director....fully promoted form Intern to Director in a day...hmmm...really." If it wasn't so vile it could be a skit off Saturday night live. Another lowlife is Jennifer Stewart. All probably fake names. This guys are so lame they have gmail accounts and no little about the law. NEVER PAY THEM A DIME. NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. They say they are sending someone to serve you papers, etc.
They said my debt was from 1999. They clearly don't care about the law: the statute of limitations on open ended accounts (i.e. Credit cards) in my state of MA is 6 years. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, incidents more than 7 years old cannot be reported to a credit report. Thus, they cannot not sue or legally get the money if the stature of limitation has run out.
If they contact you at all send them a letter requesting that they cease all contact with you about the alleged debt. Any further contact should be strictly in conformity with the FDCPA. Any further contact should be made in writing, and should be submitted to your home address by mail.

If you receive a phone call from this phone number hang up and run to your nearest debt collection harrasment attorney. These people are vulgar vile individuals who answer the phone with a simple "Hello" or "Arbitration". They will not identify themselves as a debt collection agenecy contacting you to advise your of your debt. ( which by the way is required by law ) check your rights under the FDCPA and become educated on what collections agencies can and cannot do. Their name is American Asset Recovery. I have a couple of names, John Hart and Tom Reynolds who works for these people. They are the most unprofessional group of collectors I have ever endured. They broke countless laws and totally violated the FDCPA completely. I hope this helps anyone who may have been contacted by these people. BTW, These companies do mask their actual phone number by using the skip method, they use an area code that you are familiar with in your state to try and hide the fact that they are a debt collection agency.
