Process servers do not collect debts for plaintiffs or get involved otherwise in resolving legal disputes. The nature of their job is the surprise visit, not setting appointments. "Pay me or get served" is usually an empty threat, in particular when that demand is the first you ever hear of some purported debt claim. Such empty threats are illegal per the FDCPA and similar state laws.
Got a call from a guy who said he was going to send notice to our work for someone I don't even know and tried to get us to admit we are that person. It's not me or anyone I know. They are really rude. Looked up the # and it's a collection agency, they are using skip tracing, finding info or names close to the person they are looking for, so they make threats to everyone trying to force a confession just in case you might know something about the person. What they are doing is harassing innocent people and they are lying
