I received a call from this number, from a lady that identified herself as a 'person locator', but that I had pending charges, and I needed to contact their attorneys at 720-446-0628.  The whole communication reeks of SCAM.  But for fun, I call the 0628 number.

Them:  Pre Trial Processing, do you have a case number?
Me: I'm sorry, what is the company name?
Them: Pre Trial Processing
Me: That's the company name???
Click - end of call

Call number 2:

Them:  Pre Trial Processing, do you have a case number?
Me: I'm sorry, what is the company name?
Them:  Is this Xxxxx  Xxxxxxxxx? (my name - obviously using caller ID)
Me: Yes
Them: One moment while I transfer you
Them: Hi this is William
Me:  Hi William, how can I help you?
William: No, how can I help you???
Me: You can stop calling me
William:  Are you First name Xxxxx Middle name S. Last name Xxxxxxxxx?
Me: No, my middle name is not S  (LOL)
William:  One moment while I check the database (otherwise known as a Google search)

I lost interest this time and hung up.  I have found other references that indicate these same tactics from out East.  This is a scam folks.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!

Received a call from this number today, didn't answer it because I was at work.  Listened to the voicemail later and the voicemail stated they were looking for Natasha...I'm not Natasha.  They went on to say that they were going to proceed with local authorities to serve Natasha with a summons at her place of employment.  Well...I work for an attorney and when we are going to serve folks with a summons we certainly do not call and warn them.  Calling and warning of a summons being served just causes folks to run and elude service.  They also said that they were serving a summons because I was being accused of fraud.  If it is a fraud issue, the police would be picking me up for questioning, it wouldn't be a summons situation.

This is a scare tactic scam.  Don't fall for it.  Make them verify your information.  Do not give them anything, you make them read to you the SSN, address, birthdate, whatever identifying information they state they have.  DO NOT OFFER ANY INFORMATION.  They will use it against you, guaranteed!!!

Also, please make sure you are knowledgeable of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  Here is a little information on what debt collectors CANNOT do:

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

use threats of violence or harm;
publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
use obscene or profane language; or
repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.
False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
misrepresent the amount you owe;
indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; or
indicate that papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are.
Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt;
they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action.
Debt collectors may not:

give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;
send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn’t; or
use a false company name.
Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt – or your state law – allows the charge;
deposit a post-dated check early;
take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or
contact you by postcard.
