You are exactly right. It was very wrong to call someone out, when we are all here for the same reason. Please think before putting someone down, And just be careful around the holiday season, their are plenty of people that don't have a life and are plain evil.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

If u choose to answer one of their calls, i give them to non emergency number to our local police dept. To call the person they are looking for. Stating as to where to find the person at their place of employment. I have called my local attorney generals office, unfortunately info they gave me was these people are usually out,of the usa and unable to be tracked. I've also called police and they've said the same along with telling me they also receive the sam type of call. On their work cell phone's.
