Called this morning and NMR recognized the number and sent it to voicemail after one ring. No message. Love NMR (initials for that great program that works with most phone companies - this site hasn't blocked the initials yet, but will block the full name).
Got a call saying they are non partisan and wanted to know if we voted in last presidential election. When said yes said could they call back once a no th with other questions. And then wanted me to confirm the last 4 digits of my number. Did that then wanted me to confirm my name by spelling it. At that point I refused. Didn't sound kosher.
Robo call calling a business line, but designed to sound like a human being. Never say "Yes" or "No" to a recording from any telephone source you don't know or trust, as that can be easily used by scammers in a future patched together recording (e.g., them: "You agree to this charge?" you: "Yes") to scam you in some way. This has been done in the past by scammers which the FTC prosecuted for yellow pages scams harassing businesses in the US that was initiated from Canada. If you don't actually know who these callers are, your input is probably not prudent. Especially so given the information that they intend to call back on a monthly basis (according to an earlier post here). Whatever this is, it certainly does not sound legitimate.
