She called on the businesses secondary line - asked to speak with whoever handles advertising. When I told her this number has been flagged as spam and I couldn't connect her call she understood and apologized. But a sales call before 8:00 - I thought business were included in the hours telemarketers can call? Red flag.
Will from High School Posters asking to speak to the company owner. When told the owner wasn't in, he wouldn't leave a message. They almost certainly want money.
A note to fellow members here, one can usually tell from the caller id if the call is a scam. 95% of what we call "bogus" calls never include a persons name, or at least a full company name. Of course this is not always true, but it was easy to see in this case. NEVER answer these calls. We immediately blocked it via our G4 mac using PhoneValet®.
Just called my direct line at work. I don't know how I get on these bogus call and email lists. Wanted to speak to someone in our advertising department. I said I would connect them to the switchboard. Also told them they were calling Wisconsin and I didn't see a need for us to advertise in Colorado. They were polite but it was certainly a robo call.
Got a call from this number today, just let the recorded message play while I did other things (just to tie up one of their outgoing lines). Then I blocked it. Also, if you can this number back and you get a fax machine, fax a thousand pages to them via your computer. I am sure you can think of something nice to put on each page just to waste their time and resources. :)
