I received 2 calls over a 4 hr. Period. 2 different women. Ask for person as if they know you. When you ask who's calling, they just respond with is this so & so? They have a main number. 866-510-9754! They also use many company names, including Empire. They brag about being the worlds best contingency collection agency, international & domestic. They do evictions, etc. Claims they can skip trace anyone, even in other states & countries. They operate in Ohio & many states. Look up ARC collection on the web. NEVER tell them you are you, no matter how much they call. They only make money if you pay up. They won't spend money to get to you, unless you let them. If you don't hear from a local common pleas court in your area, which you can verify, don't ever respond. Respond to the courts local number from your phone book, to see if it's real. They brag about how they can even help small businesses get their money. I don't have any currant debts owed, but another company, portfolio has called many times. I just block the number. They all try to collect debts that are no longer enforceable or that can be reported to the credit bureaus. If you talk to them trying to apse them or make a vague promise to try to do something, they got enough on tape to recreate an old debt for the next 7+ yrs. To sell their company, they tell prospective debt holders that they do predictive & robo calling. No matter where the number shows up, and even if it looks familiar, no telling where they are. Believe it or not, they once called My cell ph number from my number. If you don't answer & try to call those numbers you rarely get anyone. They even showed up as ATT on my phone. They only talk to me, if they call my home ph, w/o caller id. If the number is not in my cell ph, I Never answer it. If it's important they will leave a message. If you are just curious dial *67 & the number to see who answers. Sometimes it says you have reached a non working number, or it tells you to call another number & it will say try later ir it will say the name real fast & ask you to press a number. DON'T! You may give them information. Even blocking your number sometimes still shows up if they have that service. Never tell them that you for sure is going to see the person they want, or tell them that this is your number & the person doesn't live here. They'll ask your name say bob or sue & don't call again. After they call again, as soon as they say arc, portfolio, empire, etc, just hang up on them. Every so often they'll try at times when you may be still sleeping or busy with dinner, etc, to catch you off guard. They have been calling for my ex spouse for over 10 yrs after our divorce. Even though I know info. Like number, city, county etc & the fact they got an inheritance and paid cash for a house and car, & even though they betrayed me and tried to kill me, I still won't help these low lifes. The more they get the more they keep after people like you and me. I hope this information helps. It's proved true for me for over 30++ yrs. Only worry if the Federal government is after you. They know how to find you and will get what's theirs. They will never call. IT will be regular 1st class and certified mail. Don't get scared. Just pray for them to stop.
