Since May 27th 2014 we have received calls from 555-01xx 13 times with increasing frequency. Already today 6 times. different area codes are used followed by 555, then 0100 to 0199. Id so far has always been one of the United states or Canadian Provinces. This last one read Denver Colorado. 555-0100 to 0199 is reserved for stage, TV, movies etc. all other 555 numbers are information sites usually. I never ever pick up these kind of calls. shouldn't our phone providers be taking some responsibility here to stop this kind of constant harassment? We are strongly considering eliminating our landline in favor of Magic Jack Plus. Then with appropriate software available, we could block these types of calls before they even ring once.
If someone out here has found a decent way to stop all this stuff short of eliminating all phones period, please let us know what you have done or found to work.
I have received these types of calls to my cellphone from the east coast to the west coast and North to South. I answered once and got someone on the phone. Having been literally fed up with them I gave the person an ear full and whomever else was listening. They don't stop at all.
Just got caĺl from this number claiming someone at my home phone number has committed tax fraud and they leave a badge number and threaten being arrested if you dont call back and phone number to call back. When you call back no one anwers. Message sounds like a computer.
