If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

If you have an old telephone bill or an old pay day loan, then they can not threaten you or scam you will a criminal court matter. An old loan would not constitute a criminal matter. Most of these loans are off shore. Even if it went civil the amount of interest that they charge 612% is so ridiculously high that the court would not handle it. They know that. The original debtor has sold your personal information to another crook. They will threaten and call names. They will talk loud. They will never provide a physical address. They will never tell you their exact location. Often times when you research the computer generated letter the address goes to an empty parking lot or empty building.
I very much suspicion that the same people are working together: USB mediations, BWC Group, State by State investigations, Attorney Christopher Houxx, Recovery State solutions, ACI collections, and the list goes on. Do not give them your checking account information. They will suck it dry. Do not give them a Money Pak or Green Dot corp. card. Green Dot corporation will not help you find the criminal. They will hide behind the generic fine print on the back of their card that they are not responsible for criminals. They cover for them. So don't be scammed.
Just got a call from this lady 720-636-8244 saying i took out a loan back in 2012, I'm going to be going to jail. And I owe them cost fee and lawyer fee and a huge amount of money that I did not even get! What can I do? Please help
Ignore them. Total scam. If they have a valid debt, tell them (if you do talk to them) to send you a debt validation letter. This must be done by US mail. E-mail no good. Otherwise ignore them. Debt is civil not criminal. You can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt in the first place.
Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know
If you have received a call stating:
1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6. Authorities are coming to arrest you
7. Anything similar to above,
a. Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
b. Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in
The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency). [abstracted from another site]
If they continue to call you, tell them you are going to file extortion charges with the police. If they keep it up make a complaint for extortion to local police.
Received call
Returned call
Lady said my daughter had committed fraud
When I asked questions she said she could not talk to me but my daughter needed to call
She was nasty
I asked her to remove my number from her file
She said no
She also said they would be picking her up
And there would be a. $5003.00 cash bond to release her
Simply said there was a case pending against me, and if i did not call back I would go to court for the check frauds, But I am only 15 and don't know how to write a check, What do i do? I AM FREAKING OUT!
