My husband recieved a call 2 weeks ago from a Todd trying to collect a debt that his "sister" could have have charges of fraud on her , threating to sue garnish wages or even jail time . All this before he knew he was my husband . Hearing me in the back round never once trying to talk to me.He said he was a lawyer if we didn't want problems we would pay. We set up a payment plan and my husband called the day before money was supposed to come out of the account. The man changed the payment plan when my husband called him out on the changes he denied the plan and said he can make us pay whatever they want . Hubby hung up on him the guy called back asking for different plans harrassing us .I checked the bar for his name.. big surprise not listed to ppractice law in the state. Called better business bureau ... never heard of the company. A e sign was sent to my email for my husband take money out we denied it they still tried to take it out lawyers offices we called said sounds like they are the ones with fraud. Everyone said not to pay. Saw this number in 800 notes for the same name listed as fraud a month ago

"Carl Stevens" called my relative from this number,loooking for me.He claimed that I was wanted by the law for check fraud.Checked out the P&R Associates with the BBB and they are not a known company.He said that,I would be put in jail ,and sued by them if I didn't pay up.They are scammers do not pay them anything.I called them back and told them ,not to call me or my relatives or I would sue them for harassment.

If he calls back tell him the only one going to jail is him for numerous violations of Federal Law. Tell him to send you the information required by 15 USC 1692g via US Mail and until he does there is nothing to discuss. 15 USC 1692 is the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and it makes his threats of arrest illegal. It also gives you the right to sue him for that threat and has many other do's and don'ts for debt collectors as well as what your rights are.
I was handling incoming calls today - not my usual job and Chris Paul from this number asked for a co-worker and started threatening to garnish wages. I told him I was sending his information to management because he was acting in a harassing and threatening way and he hung up.
