We put up an ad to sell a vehicle 3 hours ago, 2.5 hours after posting we receive 2 texts from this number. The first was asking if it was still for sale. The second text he claimed to be SGT. Owen, SERE Instructor, that he is currently on Camp and would like to purchase our car for his father as a gift and would need us to send our zip, email and paypal information. He never asked a single question about the car.
This pos keeps trying to get me to send money orders before he pays on pay pal and then insist he will pay after with a fake email. His moneygram goes to Florida and his area coders in Colorado.
Damn. I was selling a drafting table on CL. I GOT THE SAME PHISHING SCAM FROM THE INFAMOUS "SGT. OWEN", complete with PayPal bogus address (always, right click sender's e-mail; it'll reveal source code) and MoneyGram transit deposit/scam . Thank you very much for the heads-up!
