OMG- Shut down because it was not profitable? What part of "non profit" escapes you. What type of honest employer, intentionally misleads its employees by telling them everything is fine, show up as usual on Monday, when they knew they were planning to strip the equipment and hit the road.
If you were not stealing the resources of the organization (the equipment, computers, coffee makers, even some personal affects of other employees,etc..), then why did you leave in the middle of the night, after misleading so many? Why is there a police report filed if you you were acting under the direction of the "board"? Remember the "non-profit" organization, the one with a "board"...it was not your equipment to take you dumb [***]!! It belongs to the non profit, which , by the way ,has specific objectives and criteria that are subject to scrutiny in order to receive and keep its 501C designation .
Businesses and organizations in both the private and public sector have trouble and fail all the time, It is a sad reality, which may require a regrettable delivery of the unfortunate facts to all of those involved,,and a professional manger would do just that. People that are straight forward, forthright and that have any integrity don't pack up after hours, leave through the side door under the cloak of darkness, stuffing computers in their personal vehicles, parked in the rear lot ,not visible from the road, and then without a word to those that had showed up 6 days a week for months ,drive away with their phones shut off. ....but thieves would,
I hear prison has energy efficient windows so thick, they blow triple panes away!! You'll be living the conservation ,or should I say incarceration , dream, Now that's some funny stuff there!!
It is the energy conservation alliance. A group out of Broomfield Colorado. Claim to be a non-profit agency helping homeowners find rebates for making energy conscious renovations to their homes.
Lady that called me was rude, ignorant, and eating something. Between the smacking of her lips and the disdain in her voice, its a wonder she has any sort of job at all. Just because they claim to be non-profit doesn't mean they should be immune to the do-not-call register. Their website (http://energycalliance.org/) appears to be newly created and none of the links work. Seems a little dodgy to me and just another means of using a front to load a database of names to sell to other telemarketers who will start ringing your number.
On top of that, using a reputable cause (energy conservation) to annoy consumers and circumvent do-not-call regulations is despicable.
just got one - I answered on the first ring but got disconnected. I called back and message said Ext 3298 was on other line and to press one to lv message. I did not and looked phone up -- NOT listed in Dex but on some other reverse phone site that said it was located in Denver CO--then I saw this. Thanks, I will now block the number!
OK this call links, as mentioned above to Energy Conservation Alliance. googling that phone number yields a craigslist ad in the denver area that lists the name Energy Research Group which is 9 miles down the road from the address listed for Energy Conservation Alliance. Now Energy Conservation Alliance still has an active page googled off of their main page that lists contacts;
Cole Reese
General Manager
(303) 339-8304
Extension 3267
Jason Alfano
Operational Manager
(303) 339-8304
Extension 3278
Goggling that phone number gets you to a couple of google reviews of the company. One of them by user "rabbitsnipe" is actually three reviews a few days apart all saying great things about Energy Research Group. Rabbitsnipe googles to an account at Hostmonster.com http://www.hostmonsterforum.com/member.php?u=11071 which is the same hosting service hosting Energy Conservation Alliance.
I love tangled scams. I also live in colorado and will drive up to both of those addresses over the weekend just to say hi.
I was contacted by this group but they called themselves the "Energy Savings Alliance". The kid, Michael Bailey tried hard to get information from me and when I asked for information to be mailed he stated he didnt have anything but that someone would call me. I then asked for an email address because he stated he would send "them an email". He would not disclose an email but finally told me to go to "EnergyResearch Group.org" I plan to report this to the AARP Fraud Watch and the Colorado Attorney Generals office.
I nicely gave them my information thinking this was a real attempt at trying to reduce energy and doing studies where I was told I would not be asked to buy anything but purely checking to see if I qualify for an energy use tracking study in which I would be compensated. In EXACTLY 15 minutes, I received a phone call from a company trying to sell me windows and siding pretending to have nothing to do with the other group except that I must not have qualified for the "program" and that I authorized their call by giving my information. Total lie and scam. I specifically told the guy at "Energy Conservation Group" that I was NOT interested in receiving sales calls and if this was what it was I did not want my info entered. I have every intention of turning them into the Attorney Generals office and then following up until they do something about this company who is trying to circumvent the the "Do not call" list. I can't wait to see them get a fine for EVERY call they made that is on the list. It is my new mission in life - I recently found myself with a lot of time on my hands!!!
