I received a call today and it was followed by a text message from Kaiser Permanente that I was due for a prescription refill. I appreciated the notice. If you don't get messages then ask your kaiser administrator to stop the refill notices by phone.
I have received several calls from this number. When called back it says "Welcome to the Kaiser Permanente Refill line," then instructs you to enter your Kaiser ID or press 2 to speak to a pharmacist. If you press 2, the message then says that is an invalid option.This is a very strange call. First, if Kaiser calls you, they are identified as Kaiser Permanente, not just Aurora, CO. Second, I have been with Kaiser for years and the pharmacy never call you, nor is that the Aurora refill number. Out of curiosity I tried calling that number several times to see if "2" is ever a valid entry (no) and now all I get is a busy tone. Possibly some kind of failed scam. If you are a Kaiser patient and receive one of these calls, it's probably best not to ignore it and call the number on your prescription bottle (completely different) or go online for refills. Just a suggestion.

I believe this is actually legit, although it's annoying on another level. We got several calls like this too. Most recently I answered and it was a pharmacist at Kaiser. I quizzed him about why they were calling, and we wondered if it was a scam (someone trying to get your health record number). He said sometimes the company has them send out these calls if they notice you aren't refilling some of your prescriptions. We have one where my spouse was using up the supply we have of an identical medicine, same dosage, that I could no longer take. (They do cost money, after all.) I thanked him, described that we are using up an Rx we have on hand which is the right one & the correct dosage. I observed to him that this seemed a bit like "Big Brother." (Of course, they are just "trying to help"). He was very nice about it.
