I just received a phone call from a person claiming to be Lee Chandler,( I was hoping it was a sweepstake phone call, it wasn't) of the Denver Sheriff's Office, wouldn't give me his badge number....( a heavy Indian accent )
The number on my phone showed up as Denver City&Cnt( 720-913-3600 )
He said there was a complaint filed against me from Officer Thomas O'Brien, I was asked to call 516-204-0211.( the pure cheek....)
Instead I checked the number online and a bunch of scam related pages popped up, I called the non emergency sheriffs office to confirm, (720-913-2000)she told me it's the newest scam doing the rounds, when you call they will ask you confirm SSN, etc....
They are trying to track them down and you can register the complaint with the fraud office at 720-913-6572.
Received a phone call from Mathew Jones (720-913-3600). He indicated that he was from the Denver Count Office and was calling in response to an IRS complaint against me. He said that the complainant is Michael Black (425-996-0477). Mr Jones could not tell me what the complaint was and got frustrated when asked for his name and phone number. He put me on hold for a little while and came back with a response of ' just call the number'. I hung up from him and called the number, but it was busy. No call waiting or voice mail. When I looked up Mr Jones number on this site, it does not exist.
This is an interesting twist on the IRS scam. Now people are calling saying they are from a local county office.

Received a call saying that I was to be served papers at my employment if I did not call back & give them my current address. Tried calling back & it just continued to ring.
