I have received many of these calls. One day when I checking the reverse phone numbers, someone else had put this message on there:
I cannot do this on my landline because it is a vey old phone. I have a cell but it is not a smart phone but a flipphone which doesn't give me a lot of options.
The message that was on the internet from another person is this: Save the number - name it ZWHO and give it a no ring for the ringtone. It will ring when they call and they can hear it but my phone does not ring. When they hang up all I get is one tone telling me I have missed a call then I go in and delete the missed call. I probably have 25 of these stupid numbers in my contact listed as ZWHO. I still get a few calls from the ZWHO numbers but not very many.
When I looked up this particular number it is "Advance Loan" a payday loan!
How do you know you're getting a sales call? It's when the message begins "Don't hang up! This is NOT a sales call." It continued on about how there's a dramatic rise in crime in my neighborhood. B.S.! The only dramatic rise is in bogus calls from telemarketers DESPITE my being on the Do Not Call list.
No, I don't need your senior home security alert whatever system. I won't buy ANYTHING from a telemarketer.
