This is the Military Order for the Purple Heart and they have been doing this to thousands of people. It is a charity. They have an 800 number 1-800-704-1642 I have similar phone number but in a different area code, but they have it registered wrong and so when people hit *69 or redial it dials my number even though I don't live in the 724 area code. My family has been harassed by hundreds of angry people the last 3 weeks because my number is redialed instead of this charity. redial doesn't put a "1" in front of the number and somehow it redials my home. I even have some Moldanado guy dropping the F bomb over 25 times on my answering machine and I have children at home. My phone company won't help. I have called the charity and they have done nothing to correct it. I will have to change my # I guess, but it doesn't seem right.
the local BBB claims they (Military Order for the Purple Heart) will not reveal their financial information as a charity to the bbb. I would never donate. I think it is mostly a scam, that gives just a small fraction to veterans.
Thank you for posting this. I for one was going to call and complain to them BUT now knowing it is your private family has changed my mind. I will go onto their website and blast from there. Not that it will help since they have lowered themselves to yelling on the phone to me.
This is the Military order for the Purple Heart and they fraudulantly have their number listed as a "Local Call", when they call people in the same area code as me with this number, there is never any one on the line, people then hit redial and it rings in my house, because the ID is wrong and it doesn't place a "1" in front of the #, it just dials the first 7 digits. I have received hundreds of angry calls and I am not even calling these people and this organization has doe nothing to fix this mess.
The call shows on caller ID as a "Local Call" but it is not. It is the Military Order of the Purple Heart calling for money. They call at least once a week.
