Similar to other recent calls for free Medical Alert alarms, but this robo call has a new twist. Opens with an offer for free $3,000 in grocery certificates before getting to the point about a "free" medic alarm bracelet or necklace. Of course they ignore the Federal Do Not Call list, which certainly tells you something about their business practices, doesn't it?
<female voice>"Senior citizens, pay close attention to the following message. If you or a family member are 60 years old or older, you now qualify under the National Senior Assistance Program to receive $3,000 in free grocery savings certificates. They can be used at over one hundred major grocery chains across the US. In addition to your $3,000 in savings certificates you will receive a free emergency medical alert bracelet or necklace. This medical alert device is designed to save your life if you ever experience a fall or any other emergencies. Press 1 now to speak to a representative and have your $3,000 savings certificate mailed directly to you and learn more about the risk free offer. Again, press 1 now for more information. Press 5 to be removed from this <uninteligible>."
I record calls like these with Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) and place them on my Spam Calls web page. You can listen to this recording here:
They called here last Friday, left the message about grocery coupons. This was not the first time I heard that one, it started a few weeks ago, from other numbers in the caller ID...for all we know, they may be calling from same place, but uspoofing a variety of phone numbers.
Just received a call from this number. No answer or message. So much for the DO NOT CALL LIST. (That's right, the DNC is run by the government, what do you expect). DO YOUR JOB-DNC-STOP THE SCAM/JUNK CALLS.
