Another scam call while we were out. No msg on machine, of course. We are getting 8-9 of these calls daily (DOUBLED since the election - I guess the FILTHY RICH who are behind this feel they, too, can get away with anything) even though we never 'engage' with them and block every one after the first call.
Received a call from this number, answered, got automated voice message regarding my credit card and "lowering my interest rate"
I stuck around to be transferred to a human operator, who answered the phone with only his name. When I asked him if this was my bank (Wells Fargo), he paused then said "Yes" and proceeded to offer me credit card incentives. As soon as I told him that his number does not show up on any Wells Fargo contact sites, he hung up. This is a [***] scam through and through
Got a recording about lower credit card interest rates. I pressed 1 when told to. Then I got a human. He went into his spiel and I would keep telling him he was on speaker phone and he'd have to repeat everything louder. I did this about 4 times. Then I kept asking him which of my credit cards he was talking about. He said the one with the highest interest rate so I asked him which one was that. I asked him that about 4 times too. I told him I had a Diners Club card. (I don't really). He said he couldn't do Diners Club. We went back and forth with that for awhile too. I told him to wait while I get a different card. Then I continued to play Call of Duty on the xbox. Lots of shooting, explosions and screaming. Eventually he hung up on me.
