Never answer these type calls. When you answer the call it is a computer calling confirming your home at that time of day and it is a valid phone number. They then have real people call back at the time of day you answered. They also sell your number as a valid number to other criminals. Your politicians support these type criminals. The large communications companies make money on each call. And then give financial support to your politician for doing nothing about the calls.
17 July 2015 1:45pm EST 727-000-3216 called and is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain.
Calls, asked if this was (by a last name), we said 'maybe, who is this, and what are you calling in regard to", was annoyed by our question. Threatened to call us back every day until we were nice...and they/he did as promised - bonus points I guess for the perseverance I guess.
Anyway, blocked the caller id # on the second call - works at least until they change it something else?
I just lift the handset or press the speaker button to answer and immediately press and hold down the # button. They think it's a fax machine or bad number and don't call back.
