Someone called today at 11:21 AM, the caller ID said: Saint Peters FL. My answering machine picked up. They left a voice mail message saying “I see that you have recently applied for (a small pause) Social Security Disability Benefits. Can you hear me OK?” I have not applied for any disability of any kind so I’m guessing this must be a new SS Scam. My phone number is registered on the national & Florida Do Not Call Lists. However these are probable scammers and WILL NOT abide by the DNC List!
I read somewhere to NEVER, NEVER, NEVER answer a call like this with a YES response. They can record your answer and do whatever they want with it, and you will have no legal recourse because you said the word YES.
