They left a recorded message that it was the IRS, I called back knowing it's a scam after I researched the number. A man with a heavy Indian accent claiming to be Mr Smith or something asked me to verify my address. I told him before we go any further he needs to provide me with my Social Security # he couldn't, we went round and round for 10 minutes (I was bored, and needed to amuse myself) he still couldn't provide me with my SS#. Then I asked wher he was calling from, he tells me New York, yet the area code is New Port Richey, FL. By this point I was over it and hung up. Has anyone reported them to the real IRS?
Called this morning at 5:38 AM Jumped out of bed only to hear a stupid recording saying they were the IRS and that there was a lawsuit against me. Right. May try calling them back to let them know I'm reporting them to the US Treasury Department and the Attorney General of Florida.
