when this number calls, it is an inmate trying to call you. the way the carrections systems works now, is that you have to use your credit card to set up a prepaid account for the calls to be deducted from. this way you don't get billed for calls you do not accept. (which used to happen all the time) if you answer and an inmate is live on the other end, and able to talk to you that means somebody in your house has set up the account. It is through MCI. the contact number to set up or add to your account is 1-800-483-8314. to get ahold of the other departments for these types of account you can call 1-866-230-7761. if you do not want to get these calls, you can call the county jail directly and they will have your number blocked. if you keep gettting them and don't know why, an inmate may be misdialing your phone number, or someone in your household knows what's going on. my suggesstion is to check your home telephone calling detail. good luck
You know this might make sense if it wasn't my cell # they keep calling. There are even people getting calls who live outside of FL. Plus when you call back it doesn't ring. You'd think that a county Jail wouldn't just randomly call people out of the goodness of their hearts to provide an easier way to speak with inmates. Not to mention I never give my Card info over the phone.
I called the pinellas county jail and they said to block my phone number from being called I had to call GTL at 727-535-1243. You have to leave a message with your name and number and the calls should stop.
