Received a call this afternoon. It was a recorded message that our American Nat'l Bank of Texas card had been deactivated due to recent fraudulent activity and prompted to press 1 for more information. We don't have any account with this bank. I hung up. I'll also be checking with my credit protection agency to make sure my info hasn't been used to open something new.
Called this 731-713-3500 at 2am, hung up before we got to it. I called it back and it goes to a company called Home Life Academy, christian school. I think some sort of scam is using other businesses numbers.
I work for Home Life Acadmey! Yes someone has hacked our phone number and has been using it to make credit card scam calls. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE CALLING FROM THIS NUMBER! This has been extremely aggravating to us as well. We've received calls from rightfully angry folks for 2 days now. Our VOIP phone company assures us that they have resolved the breach as of Wed. afternoon 2009-06-03. Hopefully this will be the end of it.
