Missed call. This showed as Unavailable in my cellphone's caller ID. The caller left this message:
"Hello, this call is officially a final notice from the IRS, Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 732-216-5172. I repeat 732-216-5172. Thank you."
Not buying it, I checked and the number originates from Tom's River area, state of New Jersey. Last I knew, the IRS was located in Washington DC where it's easier for our lawmakers to get their grubby fingers on it (hah). Besides, I already know that IF I owed backtaxes to the IRS, they'd notify me officially on paper with their important-looking letterhead and 'impressive' seal along with a few legit signatures. Even then I'd check THAT by checking the IRS website here: https://www.irs.gov/ for contact numbers and calling THEM to follow up.

Caller left a message saying final notice from IRS ... that they are filing a lawsuit against me. And to call their dept number at 732 216-5172 to get info about this call.
