Got a call from 732-243-0077 Metuchen Auto Warranty call. They know my name, make, model, year and VIN number of my car. I was tempted to ask them if they knew the color too. The only thing they don't know is that I have an Extended Warranty through the manufacturer. Scary that they know all these details. I get these 'warranty expiration' notices in the mail too that say they come from the car manufacturer, but really don't. This is a scam -

I said hello and nobody was there. Said hello again and suddenly a staticky sounding woman appeared. She couldn't even pronounce my name correctly, so I told her she had the wrong number. Assuming it was the car warranty scam again. These people call me at least once a month, about a car I sold ten years ago. When you tell them you don't have the car anymore, they try to trick you into providing information about your current vehicles. No thanks.
received call from dealer services about warranty for my 2012 vehicle, this is their 4th call to me. I told them anyone knows Buicks have 4 year free manufacturer warranties and my car is 3 years old. I asked them each time to not call me and I am on national do not call list. I called back when lady hang up on me and told them one more call and I notify the NJ attorney general.
Consumers should think twice about paid upfront service contracts, they should check with better business bureau, friends, family, internet and try hard to ensure company is good at what they do/promise to do.
