This number called our business today at 0848 hours, before we were even open. I saw "Perth Amboy NJ" on the caller ID and knew there was a 99% chance it was yet another scam artist or unwanted spammer. They did not leave a message. A while later, I blocked my phone number and called it back. Boiler room noise in the background so I knew my suspicion was right. The guy who answered blathered something like "National Pin." I asked what he said. Slower, he said it was "National" and it was "Tim (something-or-other) speaking. I asked why he called our office. He tried to get my name. I demurred and asked my question again. He then told me they were a "full service brokerage office." "Oh, so a scam artist or spammer," I snarled. Then I offered a colorful suggestion about an activity they could do to themselves and slammed the phone down. He was calling from a VoIP phone number. Gee, why wouldn't I trust our money to a cold-calling "company" who doesn't even use a designated landline? What could possibly go wrong with that situation?
