Got a call from someone at Manzil Health Care for an interview. They saw my resume on line. Used Hangouts for a telephone interview. Hmm, I'm hired. They will send me a check to buy some accounting software so I can do Data Entry at home. I'll see where this leads, and write back.
OK, finished interview Friday. Was told to call back Saturday at 8:00 am
Called at 8:0, and at 8:15. NO Answer. Info they got from me: Name, address, city, state, zip code, cell # and Email. Pretty much general information. Rats! I could have slept in this Saturday morning. Will write if any new developments.
I wouldn't cash any check they sent. There is a Manzil Health Care - but they are located in the United Arab Emirates and don't hire at home workers. This number also belongs to a mobile phone.
Your caller is likely a scammer, using the well-known name to get money out of people. What will happen if you cash the check? In a few weeks or even months, it will come back as counterfeit, stolen, altered - and you will have to eat the cost of the check and hope your bank doesn't charge you with fraud (passing a forged instrument).
I have the same experience. Received cashiers check for $2850.00 to purchase software that is usually already on a computer when you purchase it. I am very concerned. Only received messages through google hangouts. I'm not going to do anything further until I speak to a person. Not sure if scam but I'm not pursuing at this time.
